County Market Ghost- Wausau, WI

Most people would agree that one of the last places you would find a ghost would be at your local grocery store. However, this writer’s experience has been to the contrary. Actually ghosts have been seen in a wide variety of places all over the world. They have been seen in places new and old, busy and desolate, during the night as well as daytime and yes, even in places like your local stores. There are several theories to help explain this phenomena such as a spirit being geographical to a location, however I will let you the reader decide for yourself as to why this apparition appeared. The following story is a true to life eyewitness account.

It was about 15 years ago while I was helping a co-worker. We were in a stockroom area when my attention was drawn to a main aisle that led off from the sales floor. Upon looking up from what I was doing I noticed a white foggy shape form about 25 feet away from me.

The hazy shape hovered about 5 to 6 feet off the floor. As it formed it was very apparent that it had a human shape. The apparition had a head and shoulders but nothing else could be seen below the shoulders. The partial figure had no distinct facial or bodily features and was completely white in color. It was visible for approximately 5 to 10 seconds. During the time that I had been viewing the apparition I also noticed my co-worker apparently staring at what I was seeing. Soon after the apparition slowly dissolved into thin air. I immediately walked over to the area in which I had seen the specter. Upon examination of that area I found nothing unusual. In speaking to my co-worker he too stated that he had seen the very exact thing I had seen. I never saw anything “paranormal” in that store again but often wonder, was it a ghost? Maybe it was a person bleeding through from another parallel dimension or possibly a time traveler looking for the right place to visit his past. Maybe, it was an alien life form visiting our planet or could we have been mass hallucinating? What ever it was I guess I may never know for sure. What I do know, whatever myself and other people are seeing all over the world truly exists.
